About the Role
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or extensive work experience specialising in one or more of the following areas: finance, information technology, customer service, human resources, industrial relations, governance, legal, work health and safety risk and insurance.
2. Demonstrated experience in a senior management role.
3. Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead, manage and motivate teams with a commitment to achieve high standards of performance.
4. Demonstrated experience in embedding a whole of organisation customer service culture supported by contemporary innovative customer centric information technology systems.
5. Excellent consultation, negotiation, written and interpersonal skills.
6. Demonstrated experience and ability in planning and work review, process improvement and quality with a strong focus on the delivery of strategic outcomes.
Desirable
7. Previous experience and/or knowledge of the Local Government environment

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking an experienced and innovative leader in this unique opportunity to guide a broad portfolio with a strong focus on corporate services, financial sustainability and strategic outcomes. As the Director City Performance you will lead a highly motivated and talented staff group responsible for corporate finance, long-term financial planning, IT and smart cities innovation, procurement, and customer service strategy. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborating closely with Councillors, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the delivery of the Council’s Community Strategic Plan and driving excellence in service to the community.
This role is ideal for a strategic and innovative leader with a strong background in corporate services or financial management. You’ll bring a collaborative leadership style, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to inspire high-performing teams.
Experience in local government or similarly complex organisations would suit, and whilst financial qualifications are not a must, strong financial acumen at this level is definitely required.
The Total Remuneration Package is $300,000, comprised of salary, the Superannuation Guarantee and a $12,500 vehicle component.
